They thought that she might not survive. So the father sent his sons to fetch water so that he could baptize the child.
In a rush of who would become first to fetch water the seven brothers began to snatch the jug from each other. As a result the jug fell into the well. All became sad and noone dared to go home without water.
After waiting for such a log time, the father became impatient and very angry on his sons. In anger, he cursed his sons that they would all be ravens. The word was scarcely uttered when there was heard a rushing of wings in the air over his head, and presently sevwn coal black ravens flew over the house. Both father and mother became sad.
The only source of their joy was their daughter who grew stronger and more beautiful day by day. The girl was not told about her seven brothers.
But one day she overheard some people talking about her and her 'raven turned brothers'. She asked her parents if this was true. Her parents told all the incidents to her. She then decides to bring back his seven brothers. She leaves the hime without telling anyone with a ring, a loaf of bread, a jug of water and a little stool, in case she felt tired.
She went further and further and reached the end of the earth where the sun was so near and very hot. She ran from there ASAP and reached near the moon where it was too cold. She again ran feom there and reached the stars. The stars seemed to be friendly. The morning star helped her giving key to unlock the iceberg in which her brothers were shut up. She wrapped the key in her handkerchief and headed towards the iceberg. When she reached the gate of the iceberg, she opened her handkerchief but found empty. She lost the keys on the way.
She thought for a while a d decided to use her fingers in place of keys. She inserted her finger in the keyhole which hurted her so much but the door was unlocked.
As the door opened, A little dwarf came and asked her the reason of coming there. She told him everything about her and her seven brothers. The dwarf asked her to wait till the ravens return. The dwarf prepared meal for seven ravens and served them to the table. The sister ate a few crumbs from each plate and drank a little drought from each cup. And into the last cup she let fall the ring that she brought from home.
After a while the seven ravens came in and began eating. All of them saw that someone had eaten their meal. The seventh ravens found the ring in the cup and showed it to others. They soon realised that the ring belonged to their father. The eldest brother said, 'if our sister woukd only come here, we shoukd be free'. The sister, who heard their wish, came forward and stood before them.
At the same moment, the seven ravens were freed from the enchantment and became seven handsome young men. All of them joyfully headed towards their parents and their home.
